Acrylabs Liquid Applied Roof Membrane – Systems

Acrylabs R-45 system is a high-performance liquid applied roof system that uses multiple coats of Acrylabs Base Coat and Finish Coat combined with Acrylabs Fabric Reinforcement to create a seamless membrane, with a minimum thickness of 45 dry mils. This R-45 system is fully adhered, self-flashing, UV resistant, flexible, waterborne and renewable with a single maintenance coat. Our waterborne coatings meet or exceed all V.O.C. regulatory requirements.

Acrylabs PR-20 system is a high-performance liquid applied partially reinforced roof system, primarily for metal panels and standing seam. This PR-20 systems yields a final membrane thickness of 20 mils throughout the field and 45 mils at reinforced areas. This system combines Acrylabs Base Coat, Acrylabs Fabric Reinforcement and Acrylabs Finish Coat for superior weatherability. Our waterborne coatings meet or exceed all V.O.C. regulatory requirements. The PR-20 system is fully adhered, self-flashing, UV resistant, flexible, waterborne and renewable with a single maintenance coat.

Acrylabs DEK-coat is a water borne 100% acrylic elastomeric coating. It can be applied to the walking surfaces of decks and balconies with the fully reinforced Acrylabs Base System or as a stand alone coating. Utilizing advanced polymer technology, DEK-coat is formulated to perform well under foot traffic and light commercial areas while providing a seamless and waterproof membrane. DEK-coat is formulated for maximum adhesion to most existing surfaces including asphalt, metal, modified bitumen, EPDM, concrete, brick, block, stone, stucco, wood, and most single ply membrane systems as well as new board including plywood, OSB, EPS, fiberglass, and all cement boards. DEK-coat cures to a strong, durable finish that is easily maintained.

Acrylabs Acrycrete is designed for refinishing and water-proofing all types of surfaces including decks, walk-ways, drivable surfaces, parking lots, foundation walls, interior & exterior basement walls, moisture-retaining structures such as pools, cisterns and concrete shrubbery boxes. Reinforcing it with the Acrylabs Fabric Reinforcement will create a hard-wearing, waterproof membrane that is also resistant to standing water and ideal for subterranean waterproofing.

Acrylabs Liquid Walk Pad is a textured coating designed to offer a non-slip surface over the Acrylabs Roof Membranes or E.P.D.M. (rubber), and most traditional roofing materials as well as cementitious surfaces. It creates a fully adhered, breathable membrane with non-slip characteristics, ensuring walking safety and traffic management on roofs. The Liquid Walk Pad yields a membrane thickness of 10-20 mils, varying with desired non-skid coarseness.

The Acrypel Sealer is a penetrating silane/siloxane water-based product for masonry surfaces, preserving the natural look and texture while providing superior weatherability.

Acrylabs Asphalt Emulsion is applied by brush, spray, or trowel/squeegee in one or multiple coats to level and fill exterior horizontal surfaces. Also works well as a pond filler under the Acrylabs Liquid Applied Roof Membrane System.

Acrylabs is dedicated to providing sustainable and highly efficient roofing solutions tailored to meet project-specific requirements, ensuring your building envelope and roofing systems are built to last.

Acrylabs provides liquid applied roof systems that are comprised of multiple applications of a high-performance acrylic formulation combined with fabric mesh reinforcement. The resulting membrane will be a minimum of 45 dry mils when completed and is totally seamless, fully adhered, self-flashing and highly durable. The membrane is UV resistant and can be renewed, along with the warranty with a single maintenance coat.

  • The Acrylabs Roof System can be applied to new construction such as plywood, OSB, ISO, EPS, and other roof sheathing as well as directly to existing roof surfaces
  • Easy to install & user friendly
  • Water based
  • No need for expensive equipment
  • Tired metal roofs are also good candidates for Acrylabs
  • Eliminates the need for tear-offs
  • Can be brush, roll, or spray applied

The Acrylabs composite membrane is made up of multiple applications of high-performance acrylic coatings with a fabric reinforcement embedded between coats. The fully reinforced, 45 mil membrane is applied directly to most existing roof surfaces including:

  • Modified bitumen, fully adhered or torch applied, smooth or granular
  • EPDM (rubber)
  • Built-up Roofing (BUR)
  • PVC, TPO and other single ply materials
  • Sprayed Polyurethane Foam (SPF)
  • Metal Roofing

Additionally, the Acrylabs membrane can be applied directly to new construction surfaces including:

  • Cover Board (Perma-Base, Dens Deck, Securock, Invinsa Board, etc.)
  • Rigid Insulation (polyiso, expanded polystyrene, extruded polystyrene)
  • Plywood and OSB

The Acrylabs membrane is self-flashing and adheres to most building materials including:

  • Masonry (concrete, brick, block, stucco, EIFS, etc.)
  • Metals (both ferrous and non-ferrous)
  • PVC piping
  • Wood
  • Asphalt
  • Fiberglass

Acrylabs Features

  • Seamless

Applied as a liquid, the resulting membrane is totally seamless and monolithic across the entire roof. The fully reinforced, single ply membrane is manufactured in place on the existing roof surface. All penetrations, curbs, parapets, and copings are flashed with the same materials, eliminating potential problems at these locations. Additional boots, clamps or other accessories are not required.

  • Flexible

The durable acrylic membrane remains highly flexible despite wide temperature fluctuations. Tests indicate that the membrane performs well at temperatures from 150 F to 40 F

  • Renewable

The membrane resists UV degradation and shows little effects from many years of exposure to sunlight. Thus, the roof and the warranty can be renewed after ten years with the application of a single maintenance coat.

  • Waterborne

All Acrylabs products are water-based and safe for the applicator, building occupants and the environment.

Approvals

Fluid applied, acrylic roof systems were first developed for use in the mid 1970’s and have proven to be durable and effective over the years. Acrylabs roof systems have been extensively tested and carry Factory Mutual approval as a Class 1 roof cover – the stand-alone roof approval for all major manufacturers of low slope roofing. Additionally, Factory Mutual approves Acrylabs membranes with a Class A fire rating. Acrylabs also meets or exceeds the industry standard for fluid applied acrylic roofing – ASTM D6083. The Cool Roof Rating Council lists Acrylabs Reflective White finish coating as exceeding minimum requirements for a “cool roof” with excellent solar reflectance and thermal emittance.

Acrylabs fluid applied roofing systems offered a simpler and more effective alternative to single ply, torch applied and built-up roofing. Acrylabs systems are user friendly with attractive features suited for volunteer crews including:

  • Eliminating the need to tear off and dispose of existing roofing
  • Ease of application with inexpensive Acrylabs supplied tools and equipment
  • All products are water based with no harmful solvents
  • Simplified methods for flashing complex details
